You can start by ridding your system of all the harmful toxins stored up over the holidays from all that delicious food you had. Find a detox program that you can stick with, it will help to flush out the toxins that are stored within the body by way of the liver. I like to start my morning off with a cup of green tea and lemon.
The properties in green tea help to bind metals in the liver and also helps with caffeine withdrawals, something I needed since I couldn't get through my day without coffee and soda!
For breakfast I have a bowl of warm oatmeal with Chia seeds and my choice of fruit. The oatmeal is packed with fiber and keeps me fuller in between meals. Chia seeds are loaded with antioxidants, Omega 3's and protein and they contain 5x the amount of calcium in milk, even help to regulate insulin levels. They also aid in the detoxification process.
For lunch I keep it pretty simple. Usually a cup of lowfat yogurt with blueberries. Those sweet little delicious berries are also loaded with many health benefits. Low in carbohydrates, fat and calories and are packed with vitamins! However you can add just about any fruit you like to yogurt, there's really no wrong way.
There are so many ways you can detox and cleanse your system without making a huge change to your daily routine. This way I still get the nutrition needed, increase my metabolism, I have the vitamins I need and lose the weight without actually feeling like I'm on a diet. Little things make a huge difference.
